By sponsoring a child at the Houses of Happiness,
you can change a child's life. As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity

To help support a child, there are three options available:
Each child is raised in a household setting and is ministered to and taught the Word of God. A housemother or a set of house-parents are assigned to each one of the twenty houses. They raise, care for, and discipline approximately 10 children and are paid a salary for their position. Their own children are given food, clothing, housing, and education, just as every other child receives. There are currently over 180 orphans at the Houses of Happiness. As a sponsor, you will get to know the child you sponsor as they write and begin sharing their life with you. A picture of your child will be sent to you along with a short bio on their history and why they came to the orphanage. The letters of correspondence will be translated for you and your child. Any child you sponsor will sincerely treasure the thought of knowing you care and will in time become a special friend as you begin writing to them. |

| The sponsorship program provides
food, clothing, housing, and education for all the children at the Happiness
Foundation. Upon sponsoring a child, you will receive a photo and
case history of your child. Each year you will receive a new photo so
you can see how they are growing. They love receiving a photo of
you too, as it helps them to visualize who they are writing to and praying
for.
Sponsorship is $25.00 per month for a partial sponsorship, or $50.00 per month for a full sponsorship. Partial means that you will share your child with another sponsor. Your financial contributions should be sent in around the first of each month. It is possible to pay quarterly, semiannually or even annually if you so desire. You may cancel your sponsorship at any time, but we ask that you please notify us of your intent so we can find a new sponsor for the child. It is customary to send a gift of $10.00 - $25.00 dollars for Christmas and birthdays. This may be included in your monthly check with a memo explaining the extra amount. Also, please send money for special occasions the prior month, so it will get to Ecuador on time. We have a birthday party once a month so everyone receives equally. The money goes into a fund labeled"Birthday" and "Christmas" so that all of the children receive something even though they may not be sponsored at the time. Please send all donations and correspondence to the office in Yucaipa, California. All gifts are tax deductible and 100% of all donations go directly to Ecuador. In January you will receive an itemized statement of your giving for the previous year. We have our own school, K-12th grade, and we offer our children the opportunity to continue their education at the university. For those who don't qualify to get into the University, we have trade school programs such as agriculture, welding, carpentry, auto mechanics, etc. Also, every high school in Ecuador specializes in one major. We have chosen accounting. All of our youth graduate as CPAs, (Certified Public Accountants) and are in high demand for jobs. We also have a computer lab for the university students and the children are taught computer skills. The Foundation offers so much to the children, which is why sponsoring our children costs more than other feeding programs. Please correspond with your child, as it really does make a big difference in their lives. Please send all correspondence to our Yucaipa address and we will forward it to Ecuador via registered mail the beginning of each month. Your letters and cards will be translated into Spanish and then into English when they return. You may send greeting cards, and letters in which you may include things like stickers, balloons, bookmarks, or other small items that can fit into a letter envelope. The letters need to be in our office by the end of the month to give us time to translate. It takes generally about 6 weeks before you will receive a letter back. Please pray for your child. It really does make a difference. Please also pray for the housemothers, teachers, and the program in general. We know that God will richly bless you for sharing with those less fortunate. We believe that our sponsors are called by God to share in this ministry, just as we have been -- we shall share the rewards together. God Bless You! |
